Virtual Training Environment


VTE (Virtual Training Environment) is web based environment over virtual machines, hosting course contents, video lectures, demonstration and exercises for hands-on practical trainings related to cyber security, cyber-crime and cyber forensic investigations. A trainee is given access to a virtual machine and can access these resources on-line to carry out the exercises at his own convenience & pace. The platform provides an excellent foundation for police & judiciary to learn about latest trends in the area of cyber security, cyber threats, cyber-crimes and to enhance their skills in investigations of cyber-crimes.

Case Management System

It is a web based system for recording, searching and managing the cases of cyber-crime as submitted by police. It’s features includes automatic updating the chain of custody details, easy management of cases submitted to the lab, details of the case exhibits and case delivery status. It has also been integrated with facilities for communication through SMS gateway and Email for current status and further correspondence.

Forensic Help Desk

It is a single point of contact for answering to the technical queries of a user. It uses a ticketing system to provide end-user with real-time query resolution environments via SMS gateway and Email response system for effective management of digital forensic platforms and services. Additionally, a Knowledgebase, which is a central repository for related queries are provided to achieve on-demand information and answers to users.

LWAT

Live Web Acquisition Tool’ is an indigenously developed tool for live acquisition of data from a system hosting website. It acquires digital evidence as available over web in the form of webpages forensically. The Standalone version of the tool is ready to use on standalone PCs and the Web integration of the same is under progress. The tool is capable of capturing the online digital evidences and also captures the whole investigation process.
